Whatever Wednesdays!

Location: Memorial Baptist Church, 113 Bruce Street, Stratford

Dates & Times: 1-3 PM on the following Wednesdays

August: 5th, 12th, 26th

September: 2nd

Activities: Giant Soccer, Board Games, Volleyball, Tie Dye, Basketball, Yard Games, Dodgeball, Pickleball, etc. Each date will have one activity, which may be indoors or outdoors. The activity for each date is TBD depending on weather and number of participants.

What to bring: Sunscreen, a water bottle, a hat, running shoes, and your sense of fun!

Niagara Falls Day Trip

Date: Friday, August 7

Departure: 8 AM from the parking lot at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Stratford.

Please arrive before 8 AM so that we can leave at 8:00.

Return: 8:00–8:30PM to the parking lot at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Stratford.

We hope to return at 8:00, but are allowing some buffer time for traffic.

Cost: $40/student, plus money to purchase dinner on the way home (we’ll stop for fast food, so roughly $20 should cover this).

We also recommend bringing some spending money if you plan to buy touristy things or snacks during the day.

If cost is a barrier to your student attending, please contact us (both kate.h@yfcstratford.com and samuel.c@yfcstratford.com) about subsidies- we believe money should never prevent students from participating!

What to bring: A water bottle, a backpack, sunscreen, a hat, good walking shoes, and a lunch.

We will provide coolers to store lunches in our vehicle(s). Although we are stopping for dinner, we will not make a stop to purchase lunch, so students must bring their own meal.

What to expect: We’ll be going to Niagara Falls to see the Falls, then to the Bird Kingdom. Next, we’ll stop at the Queenston Heights park for a picnic lunch, and finish the day at Fort George National Historic Site. We will stop at a fast food place on our way home for dinner.

Hiking Trip #2

Date: Friday, August 28th (Backup date if weather doesn’t cooperate: Monday, August 31st)

Please arrive before 9:00 so that we can depart at 9:00.

Return: 3:30 PM to the parking lot at Bethel Pentecostal Church, Stratford.

Cost: Free!

What to bring: A water bottle, a backpack, sunscreen, a hat, good shoes for walking (like hiking boots!), and a lunch.

We will provide coolers to store lunches in our vehicle(s). We will not make a stop to purchase lunch, so students must bring their own meal.

What to expect: We’ll be going to Rattlesnake Point & Crawford Lake Conservation Areas (near Milton) to go for a hike on the Escarpment. We’ll have the chance to check out a replica Iroquoian village, some amazing views, and enjoy time outdoors. We’ll have a picnic lunch together before we head home.
